By Signe is a female owned fashion brand from Denmark that designs honest and feminine easy wear for the creative and independent woman. All fabrics are sourced with sustainability in mind as the brand stands for honest and sustainable fashion without any compromises. The goal for the brand is to prove that it is possible to ethically and sustainably combine design and handcraft to create a deeper dimension of honesty and soul behind it. With their in-house production By Signe ensures absolute ethical security in a non-discriminating, healthy, safe and positive environment during the entire production process.

COLLECTION
By Signe's collections are divided into two lines, lounge wear and contemporary fashion, and they usually have a colour palette of natural earthy colours mixed with one or two brighter accent colours of the season.
By offering clean and perfected minimalist casual wear, the garments are made to last in any basic wardrobe for several seasons. Their entire design process is gathered under one roof as they wish to keep the handcraft and quality safe within their own production. The newest addition is their underwear and swimwear line made from cut-off.
FABRICS
When selecting materials, Signe strives for all fabrics to be organic and certified by ‘The Global Organic Textile Standard’ (GOTS) which is recognized as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. By Signe’s basic wear is more often than not made of GOTS cotton whilst their trend collection is made out of ‘peace silk’ or dead-stock. Their knitted garments are often made of 100% organic wool or cotton. Whenever possible, they keep their fabrics unbleached and in natural colours.
SUSTAINABILITY
The fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world and Signe felt it important to create something she could stand behind. With sustainability in mind she decided to cover everything from the beginning, from the fibers to care labels and production methods, to improve the brands footprint on the planet but also keeping the wearer of the garments from any toxic materials and chemicals. Made from organic and natural materials certified by GOTS (which covers both environmental and social criteria to make sure that every garment is created in a positive, healthy, and safe environment) – this brand joins the minority of fashion labels that ensures eco-friendly and ethical processes from start to finish.
All dyes used at any time are also GOTS certified and if a textile is whitened, this is achieved with oxybleach, which is a low impact, safe method of whitening based on oxygen that leaves no residue. When the finished fabric is GOTS certified, it ensures that there has not been utilised any heavy metal dyes, finishing chemicals or other toxic chemicals and they are all free from pesticides.
All collections are handmade in their in-house studio to keep fully control of every single step in the product development and supply chain from having the raw material to finished product in a sustainable, ethical and green approach. By Signe strives to keep updated on all developments in the industry for more sustainable production practices.
RETAILERS
By Signe work with curated shops that dare to be different, concept stores with artistic expressions and sustainable retailers. They work with retailers that care for the productions behind each brand that they collaborate with and contemporary shops that need basic, long-lasting and contemporary pieces that can be easily styled into an endless amounts of different outfits.
